Curriculum
At Hope Elementary School, we believe that all students can learn. We make it our responsibility to ensure each and every child has the tools and opportunity to meet their potential. Our curriculum adheres to California Common Core State Standards in all subjects, including the core areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. We also offer instruction in art, music, and physical education.

English Language Arts/Development
Journeys - Grades TK–5
Students cultivate a vivid vocabulary, grasp spelling and grammar, demonstrate research and writing skills, and sharpen listening and speaking skills.
Collections - Grades 6–8
Published by Houghton Miflin Harcourt, Collections is a proven curriculum that lets teachers “put the learning in their students’ hands.” The online content creates “thoughtful, passionate readers in the classroom” through an interactive and multi-faceted presentation of content.
These courses help our students develop the skills they need to think critically, expand their curiosity, and tackle challenging concepts—all vital tools they need to prepare for high-stakes assessments.
Math
Go Math
Go Math utilizes all learning modalities to ensure students grasp new math concepts and solidify and retain already taught concepts. Students have multiple opportunities to practice learned concepts through online games, personal math trainer (PMT), and traditional methods to ensure mastery. This curriculum prepares students for 21st-century careers and encourages anytime, anywhere mathematical thinking.
NextGen Math
NextGen Math is a supplemental math program we utilize to gain instant feedback on how well our students are mastering math concepts. This is a wonderful tool that allows us to assess our students using Common Core aligned question stems. Our teachers use this data to set up our students for success on SBAC and to prepare for their future.
Science
Stemscopes
Stemscopes is a completely digital curriculum utilizing hands-on, inquiry-based investigation that lets students EXPERIENCE science. The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned content is always up to date and relevant to our rapidly changing world.
